Randy Hodgins and Steve McLellan’s lifelong love of comedy was kindled when they met more than 40 years ago in graduate school in Seattle. While managing family and professional work responsibilities, they hosted a one hour comedy radio program on Saturday mornings for 10 years on a small radio station in Olympia, WA and also co-authored two books on northwest popular culture – Seattle on Film (1995) and Wet and Wired (2000). Stuck at home during the early days of the pandemic with hundreds of comedy albums, cassettes and CD’s gathering dust on their shelves, they launched Laugh Tracks Legends of Comedy in May 2020, a weekly mini-program featuring a different comedy icon, with biographical bits and a nice slice of the comedy that made them famous. From standup stars, to stellar sketch teams, to novelty music maestros -- they are all part of our Legends.

Meet Andy Griffith, television icon and purveyor of sly Southern humor for decades. Loved by millions for his comedy stories, Andy moved into the realm of comedy icon when he took the role of Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry, North Carolina. 7 seasons and a gazillion reruns later, Andy still charms (and even inspires a few great parodies). William Shatner
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
William Shatner boldly went where no one had before -- both in Star Trek and in the recording studio where he uncorked over the top renditions of popular songs that landed him squarely in the novelty music hall of fame. Was it intentional? Does it matter? It's Captain Kirk -- and he's still assaulting our eardrums at the age of 90! As always find more cuts in the comments at laughtracksradio.com. Tuesday Apr 20, 2021
Meet Roseanne Barr, "Domestic Goddess" in this miniprogram. When Roseanne took the comedy world by storm in the 1980s, she really came out of left field with a self-deprecating attitude (and "chalk on fingernails" voice) that took her to the top of the sitcom and standup world. Dave Allen
Tuesday Apr 06, 2021
Tuesday Apr 06, 2021
Meet Dave Allen whose relaxed demeanor (sitting down, nursing a whiskey) was the perfect contrast to his comedy -- which was pointed, satirical, and a tad bit profane. Dave presided over the comedy stage for over 30 years, even gaining some recognition in America when PBS picked up his long-running BBC show. If you know him you are smiling already, and if you don't know him we think you'll be glad for the introduction. Tuesday Mar 09, 2021
In this miniprogram we meet Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong -- better known as Cheech and Chong -- who took their stoner comedy act to the top of the charts in the 1970s and beyond.
